Tripp was rescued from an abusive situation thanks to a kind neighbor. This poor kitten was suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection and a terrible leg injury.
X-rays revealed that the bones in Tripp’s leg, including his growth plate, have been shattered beyond repair. This type of injury is caused by persistent blunt force and, given the severity of infection, the injury is not new. Tripp needs surgery to amputate, but this sweet boy is still too small for the operation to be safe.
While Tripp gains necessary weight, his wound is being drained and doctors are working to remove small bits of cartilage and bone with local anesthetic. You can help him heal after this painful process and begin his longterm recovery.
